Israel Withdraws from Jenin After Two-Day Operation, Clashes Claim Lives

Following a two-day operation, Israeli forces have pulled out of Jenin in the West Bank. The operation, which Israel stated targeted Hamas terrorist infrastructure, resulted in the deaths of one Israeli soldier and twelve Palestinians. The withdrawal came amidst an exchange of rocket fire from Palestinian militants and retaliatory airstrikes by Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu affirmed Israel's commitment to counter-terrorism efforts, stating that the operation would continue as long as necessary to eliminate terrorist activity and prevent Jenin from becoming a haven for such operations.

On Tuesday, Israeli forces released images showing weapons caches discovered in concealed underground chambers beneath a mosque in Jenin. According to Israeli officials, the operation was based on precise intelligence from the Israeli Security Agency, utilizing advanced technology to pinpoint and investigate the terrorist infrastructure within the mosque.

Jenin has been a center of Palestinian militant activity, with Iranian-backed groups reportedly using it as a launching point for attacks against Israel. Throughout 2023, multiple clashes have occurred in and around the city, with Israeli forces conducting targeted operations against individuals and strongholds.
