In a disturbing incident at Queens Center Mall, a 71-year-old man was assaulted after intervening in a seating dispute between his 88-year-old mother and an unidentified assailant. The incident occurred around 3 p.m. on July 5th. According to the NYPD, the suspect demanded the elderly woman relinquish her seat. When her son stepped in, the suspect responded with repeated punches and kicks, leaving the 71-year-old with head and facial lacerations. He was subsequently transported to Forest Hills Hospital for treatment.
Following the attack, the suspect fled towards a JC Penney store within the mall. Surveillance images depict the individual wearing a gray sweatshirt and a black face mask.
