Unidentified Drones Over New Jersey Spark Speculation and Official Denial

Created: JANUARY 25, 2025

Representative Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey recently made headlines by suggesting that the mysterious drones observed across the state could be originating from an Iranian "mothership" stationed off the U.S. East Coast. He cited unnamed, but supposedly credible sources within his position on the Transportation and Aviation Subcommittee. However, the Pentagon promptly refuted this claim, with spokeswoman Sabrina Singh stating unequivocally that there is no Iranian vessel or drone-launching platform in the vicinity.

Van Drew, a Republican, emphasized the need to address these drone incursions, regardless of their origin, suggesting they should be shot down. He referenced a reported agreement between Iran and China for drone technology acquisition, further fueling his suspicions. He also underscored the heightened state of alert within the military regarding the situation.

The ongoing drone activity has prompted concern and calls for answers from both residents and officials. The FBI has launched an investigation and encouraged public reporting of any drone sightings. Descriptions of the drones vary, with some reports mentioning flashing lights, nighttime flights, group formations, and even sizes comparable to SUVs. Sightings have also been reported on Staten Island, New York.
