Former Vice President Mike Pence shared details about his recent interaction with former President Donald Trump at former President Jimmy Carter's funeral, an encounter captured by news cameras. This marked their first public appearance together since leaving office amidst disagreements concerning the 2020 election outcome. At the National Cathedral service, Pence initiated a handshake with Trump, exchanging brief greetings. Former Second Lady Karen Pence, seated beside her husband, did not engage with Trump.

In a subsequent interview, Pence described the exchange as welcome, recounting their brief conversation. He also revealed a past conversation with Trump in 2021, where he expressed his continued prayers for the former President, to which Trump initially responded dismissively. However, Pence persisted, emphasizing their differing views on his constitutional duty on January 6th but reaffirming his commitment to prayer. Trump ultimately acknowledged Pence's unwavering stance.

Despite the cordial interaction at Carter's funeral, Pence expressed reservations about certain personnel choices within the Republican party. He voiced concerns about Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s suitability for the Health and Human Services role and questioned Tulsi Gabbard's potential appointment as national intelligence director.

Fox News reached out to both Trump and Pence's organization, Advancing American Freedom, for further comment but has yet to receive a response.
