Hailing from New England, Keegan Bradley shared his experience of not being included in major junior golf events during his youth, unlike his counterparts from Florida. This made his recent victory in front of a New England crowd even more meaningful.

Despite a slightly unsteady finish, attributed to the pressure of his strong desire to win, the 37-year-old golfer set a new tournament record at the Travelers Championship, securing his sixth PGA Tour victory.

Bradley finished the tournament with a 2-under 68, concluding three strokes ahead of Zac Blair (62) and Brian Harman (64). His overall score of 23-under 257 at TPC River Highlands surpassed Kenny Perry's 2009 record.

He expressed his hope that his win would inspire young golfers from colder climates who face similar challenges due to weather limitations. Bradley's victory serves as a testament that geographical disadvantages can be overcome with dedication and hard work.

Bradley described the experience of sinking the final putt on the 18th green and celebrating amidst the cheers of the crowd as a dream come true. He likened the atmosphere to playing at iconic venues like Fenway Park or Gillette Stadium.

This victory marked Bradley's second win of the season, following his success at the Zozo Championship in Japan last October. He acknowledged the pressure he felt in the final rounds, particularly as this was the PGA Tour event he aspired to win the most, apart from the majors.

While Bradley maintained a strong lead for most of the tournament, he faced a few challenges in the final holes, including a bogey on the 13th after hitting his tee shot into the water. However, he regained his composure and secured the win with a par on the 17th, paving the way for a celebratory final hole.

Bradley became the first New England native to win the Travelers Championship since J.J. Henry in 2006. His win significantly boosted his position in the U.S. Ryder Cup standings, which he hopes will solidify his spot on the team for the upcoming tournament in Rome.

Bradley's victory earned him a substantial $3.6 million prize from the elevated $20 million purse, reflecting the tournament's status as one of the 17 designated events on the PGA Tour this season. His total earnings for the season now exceed $8.5 million.

Zac Blair achieved his best finish on the tour, showcasing resilience after a two-year break due to injury. His performance, which included a remarkable 62 on Sunday, was a testament to his perseverance and dedication to the sport.

Patrick Cantlay, who was within striking distance of the lead after Saturday's round, made a strong effort to catch Bradley with three consecutive birdies. However, a bogey on the 16th and a missed birdie opportunity on the 17th ultimately prevented him from closing the gap.

Rory McIlroy, despite an impressive start with five birdies in the first seven holes, faced challenges later in the round, including a difficult lie after a long drive and a missed birdie putt. He commented on the course's vulnerability to low scores due to advancements in golf technology.

The tournament witnessed numerous low scores, with eight rounds of 62 or better. Wyndham Clark, the recent U.S. Open champion, finished tied for 29th place.
