Pat Mahomes Sr.'s Social Media Account Apparently Hacked After Chiefs Win

Created: JANUARY 27, 2025

Following the Kansas City Chiefs' victory over the Buffalo Bills, a controversial comment appeared on an X account purportedly belonging to Pat Mahomes Sr., father of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The post, stating "Today is a great day to not be from Buffalo," quickly drew attention and sparked speculation.

Mahomes Sr. subsequently addressed the situation on Instagram, claiming his X account had been hacked and that he hadn't accessed it in years. He urged the public to disregard any tweets from the account and emphasized his respect for the Bills organization and their fans. A follow-up statement reiterated the compromise and apologized for the misunderstanding, adding "Would never."

The X account in question exhibited limited activity in recent months, with only a handful of posts since June 2024 following a long period of inactivity. The content of these posts included references to baseball legend Willie Mays, images of Mahomes Sr. in a Minnesota Twins jersey, and pictures of a young Patrick Mahomes. It remains unclear whether these posts were also the result of unauthorized access.

This incident follows previous news involving Mahomes Sr., including a guilty plea to a DWI charge in August 2024, resulting in probation, mandatory AA meetings, and jail time. Last year, police footage surfaced of Mahomes Sr. invoking his son's name during a February 2024 arrest.
