Indiana Police Sergeant and Suspect Killed in Hospital Shootout

Tragedy struck Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City, Indiana, early Monday morning when a confrontation between police and a local man escalated into a fatal shootout. Tell City Police Sergeant Heather Glenn and 34-year-old Sean Hubert both lost their lives in the exchange of gunfire.

Indiana State Police are investigating the incident, which occurred at the hospital located across the Ohio River from Kentucky. While details remain scarce, authorities have confirmed an "altercation" took place between officers and Hubert prior to the shooting. Sergeant John Davis of the Indiana State Police addressed a news conference, declining to answer questions due to the ongoing investigation.

Sergeant Glenn was a nearly 20-year veteran of law enforcement, serving both the Tell City Police Department and the Perry County Sheriff’s Office. Tell City Police Chief Derrick Lawalin expressed the department's profound grief, describing Sergeant Glenn as a cornerstone of their team and a dear friend. He also extended condolences to the family of Sean Hubert.

Tell City, a community of approximately 7,500 residents, is situated 150 miles south of Indianapolis. The incident has left the town reeling from the loss of both a respected officer and a community member.
