The Baltimore Ravens secured a crucial victory against the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday night, marking John Harbaugh's third win over his brother Jim. However, their upcoming game against the Philadelphia Eagles presents a significant challenge, particularly in containing the exceptional running back, Saquon Barkley.
Barkley's MVP-caliber season reached new heights in the Eagles' recent win over the Los Angeles Rams. He shattered the franchise's single-game rushing record with 255 yards, surpassing LeSean McCoy's previous mark of 217. Barkley achieved this feat with two impressive rushing touchdowns and added 47 receiving yards, exceeding 300 total yards from scrimmage.

Barkley's current pace puts him in contention to surpass Adrian Peterson's remarkable 2012 rushing season, where he earned MVP honors. This presents a formidable challenge for the Ravens, as safety Kyle Hamilton acknowledged.
"Many teams have attempted and failed to contain him this season," Hamilton stated, while also discussing his support for Our Military Kids during the NFL's "My Cause My Cleats" initiative. "Preparing on a short week will be crucial, especially mentally, to position ourselves for success. We need to maintain proper gap integrity, execute sound tackling techniques, and avoid defensive back mismatches."
"Their running game is a major strength," Hamilton continued. "But they also possess receiving threats that can exploit overly aggressive defenses. Neutralizing their ground attack will be essential for our victory." Barkley currently leads the NFL with 1,392 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns.

While acknowledging the Eagles' potent rushing attack, Hamilton pointed out that the Ravens boast a higher overall offensive output. The Ravens average 426.7 yards per game compared to the Eagles' 389.1. This is largely attributed to Lamar Jackson's dual-threat capabilities and the valuable addition of Derrick Henry, who has amassed 1,325 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns this season.
Hamilton emphasized the importance of dominating time of possession. "While we relish the opportunity to make plays, controlling the clock is often key to winning," he explained. "Sustained drives keep our defense fresh and allow us to play with greater intensity. Conversely, quick three-and-outs can disrupt our rhythm and allow opponents to score rapidly."

This highly anticipated matchup between two of the league's top teams, featuring the top two running backs in terms of yardage, is scheduled for Sunday afternoon in Baltimore.
