A New Jersey man is facing federal charges following a disruptive incident on a flight from Miami to Newark. Luis Vaquero, 27, allegedly harassed and threatened several passengers, including a disabled minor and a group of Jewish passengers, shortly after takeoff. He also reportedly directed threats towards a flight attendant who refused to serve him alcohol after the beverage service had concluded.
Upon landing at Newark Liberty International Airport, Vaquero's behavior escalated. According to federal prosecutors, he pushed his way to the front of the aircraft and began banging on the cockpit door, demanding to see the pilot. When a flight attendant attempted to intervene, Vaquero allegedly threatened her with physical violence. He also reportedly hurled racial slurs at both the flight attendant and the pilot.

Vaquero is charged with interfering with flight crew members and attendants by assault or intimidation. If found guilty, he could face up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Authorities emphasized that such disruptive behavior on airplanes is a serious offense with significant legal consequences. The FBI warned that individuals engaging in such conduct will be held accountable under federal law.
