Lively's Lawsuit Claims Baldoni Planned to Leverage Swift Connection

Created: JANUARY 26, 2025

Blake Lively's lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, her co-star and director in "It Ends With Us," contains explosive allegations, including a claim that Baldoni strategized to exploit Lively's friendship with Taylor Swift. The lawsuit, obtained by Fox News Digital, alleges that a crisis management team hired by Baldoni sent him a "Scenario Planning Document" outlining potential responses to Lively if she publicized her complaints. This document reportedly suggested "planting stories" about the supposed misuse of feminist ideals by individuals connected to Lively, including Swift, and portraying them as employing such tactics for personal gain.

Lively and Swift have maintained a close friendship for years. The document also proposed highlighting Baldoni's positive industry reputation and his support for the #MeToo movement as counter-strategies. Lively's lawyer contends that this document, distributed by crisis PR manager Melissa Nathan, was intended to promote misleading counter-narratives.

The lawsuit further details a purported text exchange between Baldoni, producer Jamey Heath, and Nathan, expressing Baldoni's reservations about the document. Another exchange between Nathan and Baldoni's publicist, Jennifer Abel, allegedly reveals Baldoni's desire to suppress Lively's voice. The suit also includes a screenshot of a social media post about Hailey Bieber and bullying that Baldoni allegedly shared with Abel, suggesting a similar approach. Bieber has previously addressed claims of a feud with Selena Gomez on social media.

Lively's lawsuit accuses Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, of sexual harassment, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligence. Baldoni's attorney, Bryan Freedman, has refuted these claims, labeling them as false and sensationalized. Freedman alleges that Lively's lawsuit is an attempt to repair her public image and denies any proactive or retaliatory actions by Wayfarer or its team. Reports indicate that Baldoni has been dropped by his talent agency, WME, which also represents Lively.
