Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis has garnered significant support from House Republican leadership in his bid for Florida's 1st Congressional District seat. House Speaker Mike Johnson, Majority Leader Steve Scalise, and Majority Whip Tom Emmer have all endorsed Patronis.
Patronis publicly acknowledged these endorsements via social media, expressing gratitude for the backing of these prominent GOP figures.

This support follows President-elect Donald Trump's encouragement and pledged endorsement for Patronis last month. Trump's social media post urged Patronis to enter the race with his full backing.
The upcoming special primary and general elections are being held to fill the vacancy left by Matt Gaetz, who resigned after being nominated by Trump for Attorney General. Gaetz ultimately declined the nomination.

Gaetz's withdrawal isn't an isolated incident. Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister, Trump's nominee to head the Drug Enforcement Administration, also recently withdrew his name from consideration.
