Disgraced former USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar was reportedly stabbed multiple times after making inappropriate remarks about female tennis players at Wimbledon. According to reports, Nassar's comment about wanting to watch girls compete sparked the attack by a fellow inmate at the United States Penitentiary Coleman in Florida.

Nassar suffered two stab wounds to the neck, two to the back, and six to the chest. The attacker, identified as 49-year-old Shane McMillan, has a history of violent assaults within the prison system, including assaulting a correctional officer and attempting to murder another inmate. Four inmates intervened and stopped the attack on Nassar.

Prison staff administered immediate medical aid, and Nassar was transported to a hospital for further care. Federal officials confirmed the incident but did not initially release the names of those involved. Nassar is serving a lengthy prison sentence for sexually assaulting numerous gymnasts, including Olympic medalists. He also pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography.

Over 150 victims, including Simone Biles, testified or provided statements against Nassar during his sentencing. They collectively sought over $1 billion from the federal government for the FBI's failure to act on allegations against him in 2015. Many athletes reported having previously disclosed Nassar's abuse to various adults, but their concerns were not investigated. McMillan is scheduled for release in 2046.
