A 55-year-old woman caused a chaotic scene at a Texas rehabilitation center after allegedly firing shots while searching for her former boyfriend. The incident occurred Friday morning at the Royse City Medical Lodge, a nursing home and rehabilitation facility, where Sarah M. Carter of Lancaster is accused of entering the premises with a semi-automatic rifle.
Police Chief Kirk Aldridge reported that Carter was shouting her ex-boyfriend's name and using profanity as she stormed through the facility. Although her ex-boyfriend had recently been moved to a different room, Carter allegedly confronted four employees during her search. She then barricaded herself in a room with two patients before officers forced entry and apprehended her.

Remarkably, no injuries were reported despite the presence of bullet holes in the walls and ceiling. Authorities believe Carter may have pressed the rifle against one of the employees. Chief Aldridge expressed relief that the situation didn't escalate further, given the number of patients present in the facility. This wasn't Carter's first encounter with law enforcement at the facility; she was arrested for trespassing there in March.

Carter now faces five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is being held at Rockwall County Jail. The Royse City Police Department is actively investigating the incident.
