Following the birth of her daughter Sunday in 2008, acclaimed actress Nicole Kidman seriously considered stepping away from her Hollywood career to embrace a quieter life on her Nashville farm. In a recent interview on "CBS Sunday Morning," Kidman revealed her mother's pivotal role in persuading her to remain in the industry, even if at a reduced capacity.

While Kidman felt ready to dedicate herself entirely to motherhood, her mother advised her to keep a connection to acting. Kidman initially resisted, expressing her desire to be done with the industry. However, her mother's persistence ultimately swayed her decision. She encouraged Kidman to maintain some involvement, even if it wasn't at the same intense level as before.
"Just listen to me," Kidman recalled her mother saying. "I think keep moving forward. Not saying you have to do it to the level you’ve been doing it, but I wouldn’t give it up completely.”
Heeding her mother's wisdom, Kidman continued acting, starring in numerous successful films and television series, including "Rabbit Hole," "Just Go With It," "Bombshell," "Big Little Lies," "The Undoing," and "Nine Perfect Strangers." She has also found fulfillment in her personal life, cherishing her role as a "citizen" in her Tennessee community, actively participating in local initiatives and supporting causes close to her heart.

Kidman emphasizes the importance of her community involvement, stating that her children appreciate seeing her engaged in activities beyond her acting career. She values being a part of something larger than herself, contributing to her community without the focus being on her celebrity status.

Beyond her local contributions, Kidman remains a prominent figure in Hollywood, known for her roles in films like "Being the Ricardos," "Cold Mountain," and "Moulin Rouge!" She also established her own production company, Blossom Films, in 2010, which has been behind several successful projects. Despite her Hollywood achievements, Kidman prioritizes her family life, emphasizing the deep connections she has with her loved ones as the true meaning of life.

Kidman is a mother of four children. She shares daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret with her husband, Keith Urban, and has two children, Bella and Connor, from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise.
