Lunden Roberts, Mother of Hunter Biden's Child, Supports Presidential Pardon

Created: JANUARY 25, 2025

Lunden Roberts, mother of Hunter Biden's daughter, Navy Joan Roberts, has expressed support for President Biden's decision to pardon his son. In a statement shared by her publisher, Skyhorse, with the DailyMail, Roberts stated, "I believe Joe acted out of parental love, something not everyone may grasp. I wish Navy Joan could experience more of that love and hope Biden embraces his role as her grandfather." Roberts suggested Hunter was unfairly targeted due to his father's position, adding, "I can't imagine the pressures of being president, but as a mother, I'd do anything for my child." She emphasized that many individuals have engaged in similar actions without facing consequences, highlighting the different standards applied to Hunter. President Biden's pardon covers all offenses Hunter may have committed between January 1, 2014, and December 1, 2024, including the federal gun charges in Delaware and tax charges in California. Roberts' book, "Out of the Shadows: My Life Inside the Wild World of Hunter Biden," details her relationship with Hunter during his struggles with addiction. They met in Washington, D.C., while she was a student and he was already a father of three. After she returned home pregnant, their communication dwindled. Hunter was also briefly involved with his late brother's widow before marrying his current wife, Melissa Cohen Biden, with whom he has a son. The White House Christmas stocking display has historically omitted Navy, and President Biden only acknowledged her as his granddaughter in July 2023. A paternity test confirmed Hunter as Navy's father in 2020, and earlier this year, Roberts agreed to reduced child support in exchange for Hunter fostering a relationship with Navy, which has included Zoom calls.
