Robert Kraft (pictured above) purchased the Patriots in 1994, transforming the franchise into a dominant force in the NFL. His son, Josh, currently leads the Patriots' foundation and oversees the family's philanthropic work. He also dedicated 30 years to the Boston Boys & Girls Club.

The upcoming election will see Josh Kraft potentially challenging incumbent Mayor Michelle Wu, who won the 2021 election against Annissa Essaibi George. Other potential candidates include Jorge Mendoza-Iturralde, while Ed Flynn, son of a former mayor, has opted out of the race.

This political development coincides with heightened attention on immigration issues, particularly following a recent case involving an individual using a taxpayer-funded migrant shelter in the Boston area for illicit activities. It also comes amidst renewed discussions about the relationship between sports figures and political endorsements, a topic brought to light by Tom Brady's comments on his association with former President Donald Trump.

While Robert Kraft had previously supported Trump, he stated he hasn't communicated with the former president since the events of January 6, 2021.
