Former First Lady Jill Biden recently announced the end of her teaching career at Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC), marking the conclusion of her time in the classroom. Speaking to a group of educators alongside union presidents Randi Weingarten and Becky Pringle, Dr. Biden shared that she taught her final class last Thursday.
It remains unclear whether she will pursue other teaching opportunities in the future. A spokesperson for the former first lady stated that no decisions have been made public regarding her future plans in education.

Dr. Biden has been a professor at NVCC since 2009, making history as the first presidential spouse to maintain a professional career outside of the White House during her husband's presidency. Her White House biography highlighted this accomplishment, noting her dedication to both her role as first lady and her passion for education.

The Bidens will depart the White House next month following the 2024 election, which saw an unusual turn of events. President Biden withdrew from his re-election campaign after securing the Democratic nomination, ultimately endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris. Former President Donald Trump subsequently won the general election against Harris, securing both the popular and electoral college votes. This victory marked Trump's second non-consecutive term, a feat previously achieved only by Grover Cleveland.

In a separate incident at the White House's annual Toys for Tots event, military children responded to Jill Biden's "Happy Holidays" greeting with "Happy Christmas."
