Singer-songwriter Hopie Feek, 36, recently revealed on Instagram that Rory Feek, the man who raised her, is not her biological father. She expressed disappointment in Rory's subsequent blog post, where he discussed the situation and shared details about his past relationship with Hopie's mother. Hopie felt this violated her request for him to handle the matter privately and respectfully.

Hopie's revelation stemmed from a 23andMe DNA test. She has since connected with her biological father, a man she identifies as B.C., and described the experience of receiving unconditional love from him as unprecedented. In contrast, she criticized Rory for sharing her mother's personal history in his blog, calling his actions "extremely disappointing."

In his blog post, titled "a different dad," Rory admitted that the news didn't entirely surprise him, recalling inconsistencies between his ex-wife's due date and his military service timeline. Despite the revelation, Rory affirmed his unwavering love for Hopie as his daughter. He also expressed empathy for the pain and loss she has experienced in her life.

Hopie further criticized Rory for his reaction to her coming out as bisexual, alleging he was judgmental and exploited her story for personal gain. She expressed a desire to control her own narrative moving forward and find happiness away from online negativity.

This latest development follows a previous family dispute involving Rory and his older daughters, Heidi and Hopie, regarding their concerns about his parenting of their younger sister, Indiana. Rory acknowledged the ongoing family struggles in a separate blog post, expressing hope for resolution.
