A Key Largo, Florida woman faces serious charges after allegedly sending a text message threatening the life of a 9-month-old child. 32-year-old Ashley Marcella Brooks was arrested on Saturday afternoon and charged with felony counts of making written/electronic threats of bodily harm and child neglect.

The incident reportedly stemmed from a dispute between Brooks and her boyfriend. According to reports, Brooks sent her boyfriend the threatening text message around 3:40 p.m. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether Brooks is the child's mother.

Following the alleged threat, Brooks's boyfriend located the child unharmed and alone inside a residence while Brooks was reportedly swimming next door.

Brooks was taken into custody and is currently being held on a $75,000 bond. Her arraignment is scheduled for August 1st.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is conducting an ongoing investigation into the matter.
