A Delta Air Lines flight traveling from New York City's JFK International Airport to Orlando experienced an unexpected detour on Saturday afternoon. The flight, identified as Delta Flight 2090, was diverted to Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) in North Carolina after an unusual odor was detected within the cabin.

The Airbus A321, carrying 158 passengers, departed JFK at 11:41 a.m. and was originally scheduled to arrive in Orlando at 2:30 p.m. Delta representatives expressed apologies for the travel disruption. Passengers were accommodated on a new aircraft later Saturday evening or rebooked on earlier flights to reach their intended destination. The flight eventually arrived in Orlando just before 9 p.m., after departing from RDU.

The specific cause of the odor remains unknown. This incident follows a separate weekend aviation event involving a United Airlines flight from Houston to New York, where a wing fire occurred during takeoff. Passengers and crew were evacuated safely, and an investigation is underway.
