A celebratory moment at Wimbledon on Sunday took a brief pause when chair umpire John Blom reminded spectators that even the popping of champagne corks wasn't permitted during play.

The incident happened during the first set of the women's match between Anastasia Potapova and Mirra Andreeva. Blom addressed the crowd over the microphone.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please refrain from opening champagne bottles while the players are about to serve," Blom gently requested. The audience responded with applause, and Potapova acknowledged the message with a smile and nod.

Andreeva went on to win the match 6-2, 7-5, advancing to the fourth round of Wimbledon. The 16-year-old Russian player has garnered attention with her strong performance in the tournament.

"I'm pleased with my performance so far," Andreeva commented after her victory against Potapova. "I've been focusing on my strategy, and it's paying off." She is the youngest player to reach the fourth round at Wimbledon since Coco Gauff in 2019. Her next opponent is Madison Keys, with a quarterfinal spot at stake.
