Former Cleveland Cavaliers standout Austin Carr, now a television analyst for the team, sparked controversy with a social media post congratulating the team's All-Stars. In a quickly deleted message on X (formerly Twitter), Carr included the hashtag #ImpeachTrumpNOW alongside his celebratory remarks. He later posted a follow-up message attempting to clarify the situation without explicitly retracting his initial statement.

Carr's initial post coincided with former President Donald Trump's address from the White House briefing room regarding the tragic plane collision near Reagan National Airport. During his remarks, Trump criticized Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) standards within the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and suggested a link to declining aviation standards, though the cause of the crash remained under investigation. He emphasized the need for individuals with exceptional intellect and talent in air traffic control roles.

Trump later attributed the accident to a series of poor decisions. While Carr's reason for calling for impeachment remains unclear, the timing suggests a possible connection to Trump's comments on the plane crash and his critique of DEI initiatives.
