Fox News Channel achieved a significant ratings win on Friday, with Bret Baier's exclusive interview with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy outperforming both NBC and CBS evening news broadcasts. The interview, aired during the first 15 minutes of "Special Report with Bret Baier," drew a remarkable 6.4 million viewers, with 855,000 falling within the coveted 25-54 age demographic. This marked Zelenskyy's first interview since his meeting with President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance earlier that day.

The initial half-hour of "Special Report" maintained an average viewership of 6.2 million, surpassing the traditionally large audiences of NBC's "Nightly News" (5.76 million) and "CBS Evening News" (3.9 million) during the 6:30-7 p.m. ET time slot.

During the interview, Zelenskyy's statement that he did not apologize to President Trump for their previous diplomatic disagreement generated headlines. In response to Baier's inquiry about the source of the tension, Zelenskyy emphasized his concern for the portrayal of Ukraine by certain American politicians. He questioned the negative narratives surrounding Ukraine's military, civilian casualties, and his own leadership, expressing concern over the impact on the U.S.-Ukraine relationship.
