Tim Scott Launches New Ad in Iowa, Criticizing Biden Administration's 'Participation Trophy' Mentality

Created: JANUARY 27, 2025

Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina has unveiled a new advertisement as part of a substantial seven-figure campaign in Iowa. The ad, titled "Winning," is a component of a broader $6 million investment and features Scott challenging what he perceives as a "victim mentality" fostered by the Biden administration. He also directly addresses First Lady Jill Biden's characterization of her husband as the "education president."

In the ad, Scott draws upon his background as a football player, stating, "Playing football taught me that it's good to fight, but it's better to win. In Joe Biden's America, everyone gets a participation trophy, and everyone is a victim." He criticizes the "radical left" for what he describes as the indoctrination of children, emphasizing concerns about critical race theory, the elimination of honors classes, and the promotion of transgender ideology. He concludes by asserting, "As president, I'll fight back, and I'll win."

This new ad comes in response to Jill Biden's recent remarks at the White House, where she praised her husband's commitment to education despite declining national reading and math scores. Scott's campaign highlights this discrepancy as evidence of a disconnect between the administration's rhetoric and the reality faced by students and educators.
