A tragic incident unfolded outside the Consulate General of Honduras near Atlanta on Monday afternoon, leaving one person dead and another wounded. The Doraville Police Department responded to reports of a shooting around 2:10 p.m. and found two individuals with gunshot wounds.
The deceased victim, identified as Jesus G. Loera Urias, worked as a security guard at the consulate and suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Keven Rolando Velasquez Flores was also shot in the leg. Loera Urias was found inside the consulate's entrance, while Velasquez Flores was located just outside.

Emergency responders attempted to save Loera Urias, but he tragically succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Velasquez Flores was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Shortly after the shooting, police received a tip that the suspect was at a nearby gas station. Officers apprehended Jose Emanuel Olmo-Rosado and took him into custody. Preliminary investigations suggest a verbal dispute between Olmo-Rosado and Loera Urias escalated into a physical altercation, culminating in the shooting. Olmo-Rosado allegedly fired multiple shots, striking both victims before fleeing.
Olmo-Rosado faces charges of murder and two counts of aggravated assault. Authorities are currently investigating the suspect's immigration status. Further details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
