Kellogg's Employee Fatally Shoots Coworker in Georgia Plant Parking Lot

A dispute between two Kellogg's employees in Rome, Georgia, turned deadly Monday night when one individual allegedly shot and killed the other in the plant's parking lot. 29-year-old Dekembe Devion Smith is now facing charges of homicide, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony after allegedly shooting 26-year-old Keion Tyjuan Harper.

Rome Police officers responded to the scene at the Kellogg's plant on Old Lindale Road around 10:45 p.m. They found Harper with gunshot wounds and provided immediate medical assistance until paramedics arrived, but he was later pronounced dead.

Smith himself contacted 911 after the incident, admitting to the shooting and claiming the altercation stemmed from a fight in the parking lot unrelated to their employment at Kellogg's.
