Keira Knightley Reflects on 'Creepy' 'Love Actually' Scene and Lack of Early Memories

Keira Knightley recently shared her thoughts on the iconic cue card scene from the 2003 holiday film "Love Actually," admitting she found it "creepy" even during filming. The actress, who was just 17 at the time, played Juliet, the newlywed unknowingly adored by her husband's best man, Mark (Andrew Lincoln).

In a new interview, Knightley confessed she has little recollection of making the movie. "'Love Actually' is unique in that it gained popularity years after its release," she explained. "I was only involved for about five days and being 17, I honestly don't remember much of it."

Knightley recounted discussing the now-famous scene with director Richard Curtis. "I remember telling Richard, who's a good friend now, that Mark came across as creepy, and he'd tell me to adjust my expression to make him appear less so." She added, "There definitely was a creepy element, and I was aware of my age at the time. It feels like only recently everyone else realized I was only 17 while filming that scene with a 29-year-old."

Lincoln himself voiced similar concerns about the scene's potential creepiness in a past interview. Even Curtis later admitted to being surprised when the scene was labeled as such, stating that no one involved considered it that way during production.
