Actress Jennifer Garner recently shared the heartbreaking news of her family's loss – their cherished dog, Birdie. In a moving Instagram tribute, Garner expressed the difficulty of mourning a pet, especially during challenging times, but felt compelled to share the news with her followers, given Birdie's frequent appearances on her social media.

Garner revealed that Birdie, a known food enthusiast, unexpectedly fell ill and passed away last Thursday. The family vet believes Birdie held on until Garner's eldest daughter, Violet Affleck, returned home from college, allowing them a final moment together. Garner fondly recalled Birdie's love for being read to and her frequent cameos in Garner's "Pretend Cooking Show" on Instagram. She described Birdie as "the world’s best dog" and an "angel girl."

Earlier this year, Garner and Birdie appeared on the popular YouTube channel WeRateDogs, where Garner discussed Birdie's upcoming ninth birthday and her new role as a therapy dog at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, a promotion Birdie was reportedly excited about. Garner also shared the story of how Violet, at the age of two, expressed her desire for a dog, prompting a promise from Garner to get one when Violet turned ten, a promise that eventually led to Birdie joining their family.

Numerous celebrities offered condolences on Garner's post, including Jennifer Aniston, Ina Garten, and Rita Wilson. Garten, a close friend of Garner's, expressed her heartbreak and fondly remembered Birdie's adventurous spirit. The outpouring of support highlights the impact Birdie had on those who knew her, both personally and through Garner's online presence.
