Fox News Digital maintained its leading position among online news outlets in May, achieving top rankings in multiplatform minutes and views, amidst a month packed with significant news events. 

Fox News Digital secured the first reports on two major stories: the outcomes of Special Counsel John Durham’s investigation and Target's decision to reduce its Pride merchandise, both of which garnered substantial attention. 

The platform continued to provide exclusive follow-up coverage on these developments, including former President Donald Trump’s initial response to the Durham report and insider perspectives from a high-ranking Target source. Fox News Digital’s exclusive images and videos of the contentious Target merchandise were widely circulated, even appearing on programs like ABC News’ “The View.”

Fox News Digital amassed an impressive 3.1 billion multiplatform minutes, surpassing competitors such as CNN, The New York Times, CBS News, The Washington Post, NBC News, The New York Post, Insider, USA Today, and ABC News. 

Fox News Digital and CBS News were the only outlets to demonstrate growth in this metric compared to the previous year. CNN, while placing second with 1.8 billion multiplatform minutes, experienced a 24% decline compared to May 2022. 

With 1.6 billion multiplatform views, a 6% increase year-over-year, Fox News Digital also led all news organizations in this category. The New York Times trailed with 1.2 billion views but saw a 23% decrease from May 2022, and CNN followed closely with 1.2 billion views and a 20% year-over-year decline. 

This marks Fox News Digital’s eighth consecutive month as the leading news brand in multiplatform views and 27th consecutive month leading in multiplatform minutes.

Fox News Digital delivered breaking coverage on several stories related to Special Counsel John Durham’s findings. 

Fox News Digital readers were the first to know about Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody’s pursuit of a temporary restraining order to halt the large-scale release of migrants into the U.S. following the end of the Title 42 public health order.  The platform also featured exclusive interviews with Salvadoran Vice President Félix Ulloa, British Foreign Minister James Cleverly, and Polish Consul General Adrian Kubicki.

Fox News Digital also published a diverse range of opinion pieces. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) argued against President Biden yielding to Republican demands on the debt ceiling, while Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) examined the “crisis” facing American men. Dr. Paul Saphier discussed the widespread concern surrounding the disease affecting actor Bruce Willis.  

Through its exclusive reporting and unique analysis, Fox News Digital attracted 88 million multiplatform unique visitors, a 10% year-over-year increase, securing the third position among its news competitors.

Fox News maintained its position as the most engaged news brand on social media in May, recording 30.8 million total social interactions, marking its 105th consecutive month leading this category. 

Fox News also registered 8.5 million interactions on Facebook, 18.8 million on Instagram, and 3.5 million on Twitter. For the 28th consecutive month, Fox News held the top spot among news brands in YouTube video views with 187 million, according to Shareablee.

Fox Business’ website garnered 143 million multiplatform views, surpassing CNN Business for the 14th consecutive month and Bloomberg for the 25th straight month.
