Eli Manning Says Peyton Manning Is Trying to 'Steal' His Playbook for 2025 Pro Bowl

Created: JANUARY 26, 2025

Former New York Giants quarterback and two-time Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning playfully accused his brother, Peyton Manning, of attempting to pilfer his coaching strategies and playbook in preparation for the 2025 Pro Bowl. The brothers are set to coach against each other for the third year in a row, with Peyton leading the AFC team and Eli at the helm of the NFC squad.

Eli, who has emerged victorious in the past two Pro Bowl matchups, jokingly attributed his success to Peyton's shortcomings in the skills challenges, highlighting his brother's singular focus on traditional football strategy. He teased Peyton's supposed lack of prowess in dodgeball, ping pong, and pool, suggesting that Peyton's exclusive focus on football during his upbringing left him ill-equipped to coach these alternative competitions. Eli even boasted about his own near-professional tug-of-war experience, adding a further layer of humor to the sibling rivalry.

While Eli claims he relies on instinct and flag football experience, he revealed that Peyton has been diligently studying and consulting experts for the skills competitions, including a relay race and dodgeball. Beyond the playful banter, Eli expressed genuine excitement for the Pro Bowl in Orlando, emphasizing the opportunity to connect with and celebrate the accomplishments of the AFC and NFC players. He mentioned some of the star players participating, including Travis Kelce, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Myles Garrett, Cameron Heyward, and Joe Thuney for the AFC, and Jared Goff, Kyle Juszczyk, George Kittle, Lane Johnson, Nick Bosa, and Justin Jefferson for the NFC.
