A Delta Air Lines flight was forced to abort its takeoff at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) on Friday morning, prompting passengers to evacuate the aircraft using emergency slides. The airport released a statement online confirming the incident and reporting that four passengers sustained minor injuries.
"Four passengers reported minor injuries; one individual was transported for further medical attention, while the other three were treated at the scene," the airport's statement indicated.
Delta Air Lines confirmed in an email to Fox News Digital that the aircraft involved was a Boeing 757-300, carrying 201 passengers, two pilots, and five flight attendants.

"The Delta flight crew executed established safety protocols to halt the takeoff of Flight 2668 from Atlanta (ATL) to Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) after an indication of a potential engine problem," Delta explained in an emailed statement. "The safety of our passengers and crew is our utmost priority, and we sincerely apologize to our customers for this disruption. We are actively working to assist our customers and ensure they reach their final destinations safely and efficiently."

The airport's statement acknowledged that the incident, combined with ongoing severe weather, caused operational delays. "The aircraft and runway are anticipated to be cleared shortly," the airport added.

In a separate press release issued on Friday regarding Delta's financial results for the December quarter and the full year 2024, CEO Ed Bastian remarked, "2024 was an excellent year for Delta, with our results demonstrating differentiation from the industry and enhanced durability. Sharing Delta's success is fundamental to our culture, and I'm thrilled to acknowledge our employees' exceptional contributions with $1.4 billion in profit-sharing payments next month."
