In a recent interview on "Fox News Sunday," 2024 presidential candidate Chris Christie sharply criticized former President Donald Trump's motivations for running in 2024, characterizing it as an attempt to "reverse" his 2020 election loss. Christie also reiterated his support for FBI Director Christopher Wray.
Christie argued that Trump's focus is not on the American people, but rather on his own ego and a desire to overturn the results of the 2020 election. He pointed to Trump's track record of electoral defeats, citing losses in the 2018 midterms, the 2020 presidential election, and setbacks in the 2022 midterms as evidence of Trump's self-serving motives.

When asked about his own low polling numbers and suggestions that his candidacy is intended to spoil Trump's chances, Christie insisted that he is running to win and hinted at upcoming announcements demonstrating broader support for his campaign.

Regarding his support for FBI Director Wray, a position that puts him at odds with many Republicans, Christie explained that Wray has dismissed individuals from the previous FBI leadership under James Comey. He suggested that the emergence of whistleblowers is a sign of a more open environment under Wray's leadership, compared to the eras of Comey and former Attorney General Loretta Lynch. Christie placed blame for perceived issues at the Justice Department on President Biden and Attorney General Merrick Garland, rather than on Wray.

Wray is expected to testify before the House Judiciary Committee and face questions regarding allegations of political bias within the FBI.
