Residents of The Villages, Florida, a prominent retirement community, have voiced their top priority for President Donald Trump's second term: securing the U.S. border. In interviews with Fox News Digital, several residents emphasized the importance of immigration reform for public safety. One resident stressed the need for legal immigration processes, stating that while legal entry is acceptable, unchecked crossings are problematic.

This concern comes amidst recent heightened activity by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), with nearly 1,000 arrests made on a single Sunday, many occurring in the southeastern U.S., including Florida. ICE reports detail arrests involving various charges, including aggravated assault, drug possession, and DUI offenses.

Ron DeSantis

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis recently proposed measures supporting President Trump's immigration crackdown, including mandatory participation in federal deportation programs for Florida counties and cities. Fox News Digital asked Floridians what they want to see President Trump accomplish first.

While border security was paramount, The Villages residents also expressed concerns about the economy and the need for increased domestic energy production. They urged swift action from the President, emphasizing the limited time frame of a four-year term.
