Actress Blake Lively has garnered support from her "It Ends With Us" co-stars, Brandon Sklenar and Jenny Slate, following her lawsuit against Justin Baldoni for sexual harassment, retaliation, and emotional distress. Sklenar directed his Instagram followers to legal documents related to the case, while Slate commended Lively's bravery in a statement to Today, describing the allegations as "terribly dark, disturbing, and wholly threatening." Slate plays Lively's sister-in-law in the film, while Sklenar portrays an older version of a former love interest.
The lawsuit, filed with the California Civil Rights department, stems from alleged misconduct on the set of "It Ends With Us." Lively claims she voiced concerns about Baldoni and director Jamey Heath's behavior months before filming began, not just for herself, but also for other female cast and crew members. An "all hands" meeting, which included Lively's husband Ryan Reynolds and Baldoni, addressed the "hostile work environment." Lively's complaint details demands made during the meeting, including the cessation of inappropriate discussions about sex, personal genitalia, and comments about Lively's weight or deceased father.
Despite an agreement to cease the outlined conduct, Lively alleges that Baldoni subsequently engaged in a "social manipulation" campaign to damage her career. She expressed hope that her legal action would expose such retaliatory tactics. Baldoni's attorney, Bryan Freedman, has vehemently denied the allegations, calling them "completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious." He further claimed that Wayfarer Studios and its executives did not retaliate against Lively and characterized her lawsuit as an attempt to repair her reputation.
