Comedian Amy Schumer revealed she contacted Kim Kardashian before including a joke about Kardashian's father, Robert Kardashian, and his defense of O.J. Simpson in her upcoming film, "Kinda Pregnant." Schumer shared this anecdote during an interview with Howard Stern, explaining how she sought Kardashian's approval for the sensitive material. Schumer described Kardashian as "cool" and "chill" for readily agreeing to the joke, which references Robert Kardashian purchasing the Kardashian family's home with funds earned from representing Simpson.

The joke, delivered by Schumer's character in the film, portrays the Kardashians as princesses living in a palace acquired through their father's legal defense of a murderer. This isn't the first time Kardashian has addressed her father's connection to the Simpson case. She previously incorporated jokes about it into her 2021 Saturday Night Live monologue, where she also enlisted Schumer's help with joke writing. During her monologue, Kardashian humorously referred to meeting her first Black person through her father's involvement with Simpson.

The SNL monologue also included jokes about other aspects of Kardashian's life, such as her sex tape and divorce from Kanye West. A 2022 episode of Hulu's "The Kardashians" depicted Kardashian visiting Schumer's apartment to collaborate on the monologue, highlighting their existing friendship and Schumer's comedic writing talents. Kardashian expressed gratitude for Schumer's support during her SNL hosting debut. Robert Kardashian passed away in 2003.
