The USS Harry S. Truman, a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, experienced a collision with a large merchant ship on Wednesday night near Port Said, Egypt, within the Mediterranean Sea. Fortunately, initial reports indicate no personnel injuries or flooding on the carrier.
The US Navy released a statement confirming that the carrier's nuclear propulsion system remains unaffected and is operating safely and stably.
