Former President Donald Trump revealed additions to the National Garden of American Heroes during a Black History Month event held at the White House. Among the honorees slated for commemoration are sports icons Kobe Bryant, Muhammad Ali, and Jackie Robinson.

The former president also announced that statues of prominent civil rights figures would be included in the garden. These figures include Martin Luther King Jr., Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Billie Holiday, Aretha Franklin, Coretta Scott King, and Frederick Douglass.

Established in 2020 by Trump, the National Garden of American Heroes is dedicated to recognizing impactful individuals throughout American history. Situated on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., the garden will feature a variety of commemorative elements, including statues, busts, and plaques.
