Three of President Donald Trump's key administration nominees are scheduled for Senate committee hearings on Wednesday. Robert F. Kennedy Jr., nominated for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), will appear before the Finance Committee. Simultaneously, Howard Lutnick, nominated for Commerce Secretary, will face the Commerce Committee. Later in the afternoon, Kelly Loeffler, Trump's pick for Small Business Administration head, will testify before the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship.

These hearings come as several other Trump nominees have already been confirmed, including Marco Rubio as Secretary of State, Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense, Kristi Noem for Homeland Security, Scott Bessent as Treasury Secretary, and Sean Duffy as Transportation Secretary. Hegseth's confirmation was particularly close, requiring a tie-breaking vote from Vice President JD Vance. It's anticipated that Kennedy, along with Tulsi Gabbard (nominated for Director of National Intelligence) and potentially Kash Patel (FBI nominee), will face similar challenges.

Kennedy's nomination is expected to draw particular scrutiny, with senators likely to question his past statements on vaccines and how those views might influence his leadership at HHS. He will also appear before the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions on Thursday due to the position's public health implications.
