Severe flash floods, triggered by torrential downpours on Saturday evening, have resulted in a devastating loss of life in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Four people have tragically lost their lives, and four others remain missing as of Sunday. The intense rainfall, estimated at over four inches near General Washington Memorial Boulevard and the surrounding area of Washington Crossing, overwhelmed vehicles near a local river, leading to this catastrophic situation.
Rescue crews worked tirelessly throughout the night, searching for the missing individuals. The downpour caused significant damage to roads across eastern Bucks County, with some completely washed away and others closed for safety assessments. Lower Makefield Township Police have stated that numerous roads remain closed due to the flooding and subsequent damage, and they expect these closures to persist for an extended period. Drivers are strongly advised to avoid the affected areas until repairs are completed and the roads are deemed safe.
