Two goats were found decapitated and discarded in garbage bags at the rear of a Long Island Burger King last week. Authorities suspect the gruesome discovery points to a ritualistic animal sacrifice.
Investigators from the Suffolk County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) made the disturbing find on Thursday at the Farmingdale location. The goat remains were bagged with other items indicative of a ritualistic killing, according to SPCA Chief Roy Gross.
A $2,000 reward has been offered by the SPCA for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for this act of animal cruelty. Gross emphasized the disturbing nature of such discoveries, particularly when encountered by children, and stressed the need for these violent acts to cease.
This incident follows a similar discovery last September where the remains of several decapitated chickens and goats were found along the Northern State Parkway. Anyone with information regarding the recent incident is urged to contact the Suffolk County SPCA.
