Christopher Rich Returns to Acting Alongside Reba McEntire After Stroke

Seven years after a life-altering stroke and traumatic brain injury, actor Christopher Rich is stepping back into the spotlight. He's joining his former "Reba" co-star Reba McEntire on her new show, "Happy's Place." Rich, who portrayed McEntire's ex-husband on the sitcom, expressed his enthusiasm to Entertainment Tonight, saying only McEntire could entice him back to acting. In the new series, he plays a tattoo artist with a wry sense of humor about his stroke-related disability.

Rich told Us Weekly he embraces the opportunity to portray a character with disabilities. He's hopeful that this role will open doors for future acting opportunities, demonstrating that he can still contribute to the industry. Rich candidly discussed his health journey, describing the stroke's impact as feeling "like I got hit with an atomic bomb." He detailed subsequent health challenges, including blood clots and lung embolisms, emphasizing his resilience and current well-being.

The new show serves as a reunion for Rich, McEntire, and Melissa Peterman, who also starred in "Reba." Rich credits McEntire and Peterman with supporting him during his recovery, encouraging him to venture out and re-engage with life after his stroke. He expressed gratitude for their invitations to social events and the comfort he found spending time with them. Peterman highlighted the undeniable chemistry between the trio, describing it as "magic."
